Join the FuelSOME Dissemination Workshop and Training Day
The FuelSOME consortium is pleased to invite researchers, industry representatives, policymakers, maritime stakeholders, and technology providers to the FuelSOME Project Dissemination Workshop and Training Day, taking place on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, in Kongsberg, Norway, with the possibility to participate remotely via Microsoft Teams.
The physical event will take place at the Bergseminaret building, Kirketorget 3, Kongsberg. The event is hybrid, and registered online participants will receive the Teams link a few days before the event. Registration is open until Friday, 2 October 2026.
The day will showcase the latest achievements of the FuelSOME project and provide participants with insights into multifuel Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) technologies for the maritime sector, together with practical training and discussions on future exploitation and business opportunities.
Participants are welcome to attend all three events or only the sessions most relevant to them:
• Scientific Workshop | 09:30–11:30
Presentation of FuelSOME project results and discussion of the relevance of SOFC technology for maritime applications. The session will include an introduction to the project, industry keynotes from Kongsberg Maritime and Elcogen, results and lessons learned from the construction, testing and validation of multifuel-compatible SOFC systems, and an introduction to the Multi-Fuel Pathway Explorer.
• Interactive Training Session | 11:30–12:30
A hands-on introduction to the Multi-Fuel Pathway Explorer (MFPE) tool, led by AEE INTEC, offering participants the opportunity to explore the modelling, simulation and design of multi-fuel pathways. Registered participants will receive an installation guide in advance.
• Industrial Workshop | 14:00–16:30
A session dedicated to post-project opportunities, exploitation and business planning, including industry trend analysis, strategic and tactical responses, SWOT analysis, and preparation for feasibility assessments and business planning.
The day will conclude with a Networking Coffee from 16:30–17:00, followed by the official closure of the event.
The FuelSOME project is working to demonstrate the technological feasibility of a flexible, scalable and multi-fuel capable energy generation system based on SOFC technology, specifically designed for long-distance maritime shipping. This combined workshop and training day will bring together project results, industry perspectives and practical tools supporting the transition towards more sustainable maritime transport.
